Certification of an OH&S management system demonstrates an organization's commitment to health and safety and compliance at work。

The ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management system is evolved from the OHSAS18001 occupational health and safety management system. This new standard is used to help organizations around the world ensure the health and safety of their workers.

ISO 45001 was drafted by the ISO/PC 283 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Project Committee. This committee is composed of 69 formal members (including China National Standardization Committee SAC and relevant institutions in the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, France and other countries) and 16 observation members. Representatives of organizations such as the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) also participated in the discussion of the standard.

In many industries, proactive and preventive management systems are essential. The system emphasizes risk control by identifying and assessing the likelihood of workplace hazards. Businesses can protect their workforce by continuously improving the safety and health performance of their employees through reliable risk control.

With the rapid economic growth, occupational health and safety issues closely related to production have received widespread attention. According to the development of relevant international standards and the needs of domestic occupational health and safety management, China has formulated, issued and implemented the GB/T28001 standard, which reflects the system safety thought in modern safety science theory. Reduce work-related accidents, reduce occupational disease hazards, improve working conditions, reflect people-oriented, and mobilize the enthusiasm of employees; effectively control various occupational health and safety risks, and it is also a powerful weapon to eliminate non-tariff trade barriers related to labor safety in international trade.
